The federal government owns more than 3 billion SF of floor space across the country, making it the largest building owner and manager in the US. The guidelines will streamline efficiency across the government’s entire portfolio, updating mechanical equipment, insulation, and lighting efficiency.
SB 833 in California calls for energy resilience and microgrid buildouts
Pointing towards the reliance on diesel generators during blackouts, the bill looks to incentivize the buildout of microgrids with solar and batteries. The bill has been approved by multiple committees in and is now awaiting the appropriations committee to assign a budget.
